Android Apps (1 Week of Use)
So I’ve had my EVO 4G for a week now, this is what I’m digging so far, apps-wise…
Essentials (these will help overall)
- Astro File Browser (makes it easy to move files on the SD card around, delete them etc)
- Taskiller (I use the widget the most, whenever the phone slows down you just tap to kill everything running in the background)
- Meridian (By far the best music/video player, much better than the stock especially for video)
- Dolphin Browser (Much faster than the stock browser, plus it has tabs and plugins)
- BatteryTime Lite (Can give you a % meter on the topbar, plus stats on how much time you have left before a dead battery)
Favorites (all free)
- Listen (A podcast app, made by Google)
- Alarm Clock+ (Cool alarm app, lots of features)
- Layar (Shows you nearby restaurants, locations of interest, tweets, etc using the camera. It’s a toy, but very cool looking)
- Flixster (Search for showtimes, RottenTomatoes ratings, IMDB integration, best movie app IMO)
- UrbanSpoon (Gets your location via GPS, then options for places to eat. Lots of toys, including shake the phone for random options!)
- Seesmic (The best Twitter app I’ve found, and I’ve tried maybe 8 or 9 so far)
- Ringdroid (Snip any part of any mp3 on the phone to use as a ringtone)
Games (some of these cost $ but not much, ordered by awesomness, top is best)
- World Attack (I’m totally addicted to this game, very fun)
- Bejeweled (An oldie but goody)
- Bubble Bash
- Hyperspace
- Katamari Mobile
- Radiant
- Tetris
- What the Doodle?
- ArtfulBits aiMinesweeper
Also, Teeter is a game that is probably already on your phone, and is great fun.
